SUPPORTING TECHNOLOGIES
Technology and technological systems that provide supporting capabilities essential to implementing and continuously refining the NIMS. These include voice and data communications systems, information systems (i.e., record keeping and resource tracking), and display systems. NFPA 1500:
8.3.4 : The incident commander SHALL maintain an awareness of the location and function of all companies or crews at the scene of the incident.

8.3.9 : The personnel accountability system SHALL be used at all incidents.

NFPA 1561:
2-7.2 : The emergency services organization shall develop the system components required to make the personnel accountability system effective.
